THE OCEAN NEEDS US
Vast, deep, beautiful and mesmerising: the ocean is a diverse and interconnected global ecosystem that functions as a life support system to the rest of the planet. It covers 72% of Earth and produces half its oxygen. You are connected to it every time you take a breath.
A massive amount of plastic trash ends up in the ocean every year, with studies estimating 5 trillion pieces weighing over 250,000 tons are now contaminating and floating through it. If we don’t work together to clean up the plastic and stop the continued pollution, we are facing the extinction of many sea life species, accelerated global warming, and reduced quality of human life.
The ocean is something very close to the heart of For The Love, with our events held at beautiful waterside locations around the world. The ‘Music For Oceans Movement’ is about inspiring and actioning positive change to dramatically reduce single use plastics at our events and in our daily lives and raising funds for various charities and partners who focus on protecting our oceans.
The first activation is with globally recognised environmental organisation PARLEY. All proceed will go towards performing beach clean ups and researching new products to replace plastic use altogether.
